Spending cap

Nobody likes an unexpected high bill. That’s why we use a spending cap. That way, you never run into any unpleasant surprises.







What is a spending cap?

"Have you used all your bundle? If so, then you can keep using your phone until you reach up to €10 of out-of-bundle costs. That’s what we call the ‘spending cap’. Once you reach that amount, you won’t be able to call, text or use mobile data any longer. Of course, you can still receive incoming calls and text messages. And you are always welcome to buy extra credit or a data bundle via our website or the MyLebara app. We’ll always send you a text to let you know when you’ve used (almost) all your credit."


Out-of-bundle rates

After you have used all your bundle, you can keep using your phone for a fee of €0.12 per minute/SMS and €0.01 per MB. You will be charged at this rate until you reach the spending cap of €10.


Example

Suppose you have a Sim Only bundle for €7.50, with 2 GB of data, 150 minutes and 150 text messages. When you’ve used all your bundle, you can keep using your services until you reach up to €10 in out-of-bundle costs. That way, you know that your bill will never be higher than €17.50 per month.

Standard feature

The spending cap is a standard feature for Sim Only subscription. It is not possible to increase, decrease or switch off the spending cap.

You decide which day your contract will start. Activate your sim card by clicking the link in the confirmation email. Or set it up through the MyLebara app. Have you requested to keep your number? Then activate your subscription on the day your number is being transferred.

With Sim Only you can either choose for a 24 month contract with even bigger savings, or for a flexible monthly rolling contract that will go on for as long as you want to. With both subcriptions you can increase or decrease the value every month free of charge.

Have you (almost) used all your bundle? You can easily buy new data bundles and extra minutes online using or the app.

If you have used all your bundle, you will be charged at the out-of-bundle rate for any services you use. This rate is 12 cents per minute (calling), 12 cents per text message and 1 cent per MB of data. You will be charged at this rate until you reach an out-of-bundle limit of 10 euros. After you reach this 10 euro limit, you can no longer call, send text messages or use data. Of course, you can still receive incoming calls and text messages.

We always send you a text message to inform you when you have used 80% and 100% of your minutes, texts or data bundle.

Inside the EU (plus Switzerland and the United Kingdom), you do not pay any extra costs for calling and sending text messages to other EU countries or using mobile internet. Switching from Lebara Prepaid to Sim Only is super easy. Choose your subscription and add-ons and then click ‘Order’. After that, you can immediately specify whether you want to switch and keep using your existing Prepaid SIM card and phone number.

As soon as your order is complete, we’ll send you an email with an activation link. Once you click the activation link, you can immediately start using your new Sim Only bundle. This is simply added to your old SIM card.

Did you choose to receive a new phone number? If so, then you will receive a letter from us in the post, containing your new SIM card.
